Lost Luggage

Lost Luggage

The sleeping metal snake
Rumbles to life
Twisting and turning
As it slithers around the ground
Empty at first
It gathers speed
Then begins to pickup luggage
More and more accumulate
As the beast rolls along
People scampering
Here and there
To reclaim what is theirs
Slowly the crowd dies away
As we wait for the snake
To disgorge our packs and bags
But the snakes starts to slow
Rattles along, then gasps
Our luggage it appears
Has been sacrificed
To the snake god in the sky
