Online Topic (Due Week 10)
Time to finalize the Web Rating Form Dr. T. will use to grade your final projects. Review and prioritize the functional and aesthetics/design criteria that the class posted on the discussion board a few weeks ago. For this week post on the discussion board the 25 criteria you feel are critical to a well-designed Web site and list them in order from most important to least important.
Homework (Due Week 10)
- Read Chapter 8 and take the quiz. Be able to define the Key Terms
and answer the end of chapter Review Questions.
- BONUS: Complete Chapter 8 Explorations 1 thru 7 and email Dr. T. chapter8.html and chapter8.css.
- Create an external style sheet you can use with your final project (25 points). Establish unique properties for all headings levels, paragraphs, and list items used within the document. Email Dr. T. a copy of the CSS text file. Note: Validate your CSS code at http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator before submitting it to Dr. T. for grading.
- Add a Web page to your college Web site that contains the answers to the following questions about your final project (50 points). This page should use the external style sheets described above. Your Homework Homepage must contain a link to and from this page. The page footer should contain the animated GIF created as the 5th part of this assignment (see below).
- Text for Project's Homepage Title bar
- Description of user or audience.
- List of browsers the project should work with.
- List of keywords you would like search sites to use.
- What information is available to the user?
- What data does the user input?
- Primary background color or image.
- Primary font color.
- Create a personal animated GIF file you can add to your signature
line in the footer (25 points). You can use software currently available to you, shareware (like Ani-Magic) or Adobe Photoshop is available in the college's main computer lab. This personal animated GIF file should not exceed 15K in size and CANNOT be an animated GIF you have copied from another Web site. Here are some examples:
